Hola chicos, welcome! Welcome to Empowermente, the headquarters of Latina Empowerment. I’m Gina Moreno, and I’m thrilled to embark on this journey with you. This is our very first episode, and I’m so excited to look back at this one day and see how much we’ve evolved. If you’re here, know that I don’t take it for granted. Thank you so much for supporting me.
A Little About Me
My name is Gina Elizabeth Moreno, a first-generation Mexican American from El Paso, Texas. Growing up in a border town is a unique experience, living with the beauty of two cultures. El Paso, home to beautiful mountains and the second largest military base in the U.S., shaped much of who I am today. My parents hail from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and although I didn’t get to meet most of my grandparents, I have roots in Zacatecas, which I’m eager to explore more deeply.
Education and Career
I attended the University of Texas at El Paso, earning a bachelor’s in industrial engineering and a master’s in systems engineering. My career journey started with internships at Northrop Grumman, Cummins, Lockheed Martin, and Toyota, where I discovered my love for travel. I eventually landed at Microsoft, working as a technical account manager and later as a program manager.
In 2020, even before the pandemic, I was already on a mental health journey, questioning if corporate life was all there was. This period led me to many personal growth journeys, including spiritual and hormone health balancing, shaping what I do today.
Embracing the Power Within
A lot of my purpose came from times of crisis. If you’re feeling lost, unsatisfied, or unfulfilled, know that you are headed for something great. Empowerment and personal growth are at the core of what we’ll explore here. As a first-generation Latina, I navigated everything on my own, from education to emotions. I hope to create a space where we can talk about healing generational trauma, building generational wealth, and personal development from our unique perspective.
Entrepreneurship and Corporate Insights
I learned a lot in corporate America and now, as an entrepreneur, I want to share those lessons. We’ll dive into tangible tips to excel and overcome limiting beliefs in both areas. I’m passionate about advocating for women in STEM and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Lifestyle and Life Transitions
Being a nomad at heart, I love to share my travel experiences and the transitions that come with life in your 20s and 30s. This period is filled with self-discovery and growth, and I’m here to explore those topics with you.
Why I’m Here
Every experience in my life has led me to this point. It feels like the universe has guided me here to speak with you today. I used to ignore my intuition, but now I listen closely. My unique talents and experiences weren’t being utilized in corporate life, and although I had a great salary, my soul felt unfulfilled. I believe we all deserve to live a life that aligns with our true purpose.
What to Expect
In upcoming episodes, expect more structure. We’ll have a quote of the day, Q&A sessions, and cover topics like personal growth, entrepreneurship, and life transitions. I’ll start with solo episodes and eventually bring on guests, so let me know who you’d like to hear from.
